Locked out

Funny story. I got up yesterday morning at 4:15am intending to do a 5k at Grace Christian. When I got to the gate of my village, I found it locked! LOL I couldn’t get my car out! So instead of running, I just did 15 minutes of frantic dancing and 20 minutes of weight training. Not the most satisfying of exercise mornings, but adequate enough to jump-start my lethargy. I have a meeting with Hazel Gonzales tomorrow and the last thing I want to do is look pudgy.

Y’all should know that since I’ve stopped running, that I’ve gained ten pounds. Let that be a lesson to me. Cardio works for me; when I don’t do it, I get fat. (And all y’all exercise gurus can tell me about all the alternatives, but the truth is, I like running. It gives me time with my thoughts. It also gives me great time to be creative and come up with more concepts and ideas for my job at the church in the Philippines where I work.

Race for Life moved to October 24

The Real Life Foundation has announced that Race for Life 2009, the annual fun run for the benefit of the Real Life Scholars, has been moved to October 24. THANK GOD! I feel that I really need extra time to prepare for that race, ugh.

I’m also compiling a list of running songs for that. It’s kinda exciting – I’ve got a whole bunch of new songs, including Leighton Meester’s Somebody to Love, David Guetta’s When Love Takes Over, Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry, and so many others. Can’t wait for this run!

Breakfast (The Sandwich Guy)

Country Tuna Sandwich – 350 calories
Veggie Salad – 350 calories

I just want to comment about The Sandwich Guy, which has an outlet near my office. I love this restaurant! Today, I had the country tuna, which was great, and a veggie salad, which could’ve been better (because they slathered mustard-mayo all over it before I could say no, so it was really fatty, but so delicious!) I plan to eat here more often. The sandwiches are healthy and not too expensive, especially compared to Oliver’s or Kenny Rogers. You guys should check out The Sandwich Guy.)
